About 34 per cent work has been completed on the 650 m long cable stayed bridge of Mumbai-Pune Expressway Augmentation Project.

Besides, 70 per cent and 90 per cent work has been completed on 840 m viaduct and 10.65 km long tunnels (Tunnel 1 – 8.9 km and Tunnel 2 – 1.75 km) respectively.

The project, approved in December 2013, includes construction of missing link of 13.3 km on Mumbai-Pune Expressway and capacity augmentation of existing 6.5 km long stretch from Khalapur toll plaza to Khopoli exit (Sinhgad Institute) on Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway at an investment of Rs 66.95 billion. The scope of work also includes construction of 23.75 m wide twin tunnels, two viaducts and two horizontal shafts.
