The Ashram underpass under the Ashram-DND Six-Lane Flyover Project opened for trial run on March 22, 2022.

The scope of work involves construction of a 750 m long underpass connectingNizamuddin railway bridge and CSIR Apartments at Ashram Chowk in Delhi. The underpass is aimed at providing a signal-free ride between Nizamuddin and Badarpur on Mathura Road at the Ashram intersection.

The project involves construction of a 1.41 km long six-lane flyover from Ashram flyover till Delhi Noida Direct (DND) flyover at a cost of Rs 1,289.5 million. The scope of work also includes construction of a traffic roundabout, subway to connect Kilokari village with Maharani Bagh, 750-long underpass at Ashram Chowk and two foot-over bridges (FoB). The Public Works Department, Delhi (PWD) is implementing the project on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
